If you’d like to get paid to write for Christian magazines and publications, you’re in the right place.

Pay: Up to 25 cents per word
Clubhouse Magazine is looking for articles tailored to 8- to 12-year old kids who want to know more about God and the bible. They expect articles to be between 400 to 1,800 words depending on what category it falls into, and they accept both fiction and nonfiction.
America Magazine offers a “smart” catholic take on faith and culture; it’s “the leading provider of news and analysis for thinking Catholics and those who want to know what Catholics are thinking”. They want original, unpublished articles of around 800 to 2,500 words (depending on what category the article falls into). They pay on acceptance of your article.
Pay: up to $400 per article
Answers Magazine (or Answers in Genesis) want articles that “illustrate the importance of Genesis in building a creation-based worldview, and that equips readers with practical answers so they can confidently communicate the gospel and biblical authority with accuracy and graciousness”. They prefer you to send them a query instead of a complete manuscript.
CATECHIST Magazine wants articles that are relevant to catechists, religion teachers and directors of religious education. They prefer articles to have a maximum of 1,200 words. They pay upon publication.
Pay: up to $500 per article
Catholic Digest is looking for lifestyle articles “that encourages and supports Catholics in a variety of life stages and circumstances”. Articles can be in the 300 to 1,500 words range depending on what category the article falls into.
Charisma Magazine is looking for articles that empowers believers to be passionate, Spirit-filled Christians. Common themes of articles featured in Charisma include “prayer, healing, spiritual warfare, end times, the prophetic and Israel.” Articles can be around 700 – 2,600 words depending on what category it falls into.
Leadership Journal is looking for articles that offer “smart, honest perspective on matters of ministry and the Christian leadership experience.” They prefer you to send them a query before proceeding with writing the article.
8. FCA Magazine
FCA Magazine is aimed at informing, inspiring and involving coaches, athletes and those they influence to make an impact for Jesus Christ. They prefer articles to be in the 1,000 to 2,000 words range and want you to send them a query first. Payment is made upon publication.
Pay: 20 cents per word
InSite Magazine is looking for how-to articles related to Christian camping ministries. They expect features and profiles to be 1,200 – 1,500 words, how-to pieces to be 1,000 – 1,200 words and sidebars to be 250 – 500 words. They pay upon publication.
10. Connect Journal
Pay: Up to $200 per article
Connect Journal is looking for articles aimed at adults whose ministry with young people is their vocation. They publish full-length features of up to 2,200 words and sidebar-length articles of up to 450 words.
11. Guide Magazine
Pay: 7 – 10 cents
Guide Magazine is looking for true stories that illustrate Bible truth and how to walk with God, aimed at young people aged 10 – 14. Articles should be between 450 and 1,200 words. They pay upon acceptance.
12. GROUP Magazine
Pay: up to $400 per article
GROUP Magazine is looking for articles on successful youth ministry strategies. Articles should be between 175 and 2,000+ words, and they own all rights to your article. They pay upon acceptance.
Pay: Up to $100 per article
Devozine is a magazine aimed at helping young people develop a lifelong practice of prayer and spiritual reflection, and they want writers to submit meditations or articles. Meditations should be between 150 and 250 words long and articles should be between 500 and 600 words.
Pay: Up to $100 per article
Creation Illustrated is “looking for high quality articles and poetry that bring glory to God through the wonders of His creation”. They expect articles to be between 500 and 2,000 words, depending on what category the article falls into. They pay within 30 days of publication and they offer a 25% kill fee should they design not to publish an assigned article.
Pay: 8 cents per word (6 cents per word for reprints)
ENCOUNTER is looking for both fiction and nonfiction articles aimed at Christian teenagers. They want articles to be no more than 1,100 words and they pay upon acceptance of your article.
Pay: 10 cents per word
Enrichment Journal is looking for articles about pastoral practice, ministry ideas for church leaders, preaching from a ministerial perspective and ministry-related subjects. Articles should be between 200 – 2,100 words depending on what section an article falls into. They pay upon publication.
Ministry Magazine is looking for articles tailored to ministers and church leaders, and they want all rights to your article. Articles should be between 500 and 2,500 words.
Pay: 12 – 15 cents per word
Liguorian is looking for articles and resources aimed at helping Catholics at every stage of faith and life in an ever-changing world. Articles should be between 1,000 – 2,200 words. You’ll be paid upon acceptance of your article.
Presbyterian Today is looking for articles that can help individuals and families cope with the stresses of daily living from a Christian perspective, preferably with direct relevance to a Presbyterian audience. Articles can be between 250 and 1,500 words depending on what category an article falls into. You’ll be paid upon acceptance of your article.
RELEVANT magazine is looking for articles about faith, culture and intentional living. They only want submissions from published journalists, and they pay within 45 days of publishing your article.
Pay: $200 per article
The Catholic Answer is looking for articles that help their readers answer important questions about the Catholic faith, practice and tradition. They want articles to be at least 500 words and no longer than 1,000 words. They pay upon acceptance of your article.
Pay: $200 – $225 per article
The Christian Science Monitor is looking for articles aimed at helping the progress of the human endeavor around the world. They pay a 50% kill fee for assigned articles they do not use.
Pay: $200 per article
The Compass Magazine is looking for news and information about issues affecting the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They prefer articles to be between 800 and 2,500 words and they pay within 2 weeks of publishing your article.
Covenant Champion magazine is looking for articles on the “Christian life, the church, spirituality, contemporary issues impacting the Christian community, social justice and outreach ministry”. They prefer articles to be between 1,200 and 1,800 words and they pay within 60 days of publishing your article.
25. The Quiet Hour
Pay: $115+ per article
The Quiet Hour is looking for devotionals that provide “inspiration from anecdotal content related to selected Scripture passages with encouragement and insight that lends to life application.” They expect devotionals to be between 145 to 170 words.
They are looking for articles that will help priests in their day-to-day parish ministry. They expect articles to be no more than 1,000 words and they pay upon acceptance.
They are looking for articles that can encourage, equip and inspire Christian women. They do not accept fiction, poetry, product reviews, Bible studies or devotionals. They expect articles to be between 800 and 1,500 words, and they pay within 45 days of publishing your article.
28. UC OBSERVER
They want articles about faith, ethics, social justice, etc. They rarely publish poetry or fiction. They expect you to send an invoice with the first draft of an assigned article and they pay within 30 days of receiving your invoice.
29. The War Cry
Pay: 35 cents per word
The War Cry is a Salvation Army publication looking for news, profiles, commentaries and stories that bring people to Christ and help believers grow in faith and character, from the perspective of Salvation Army programs, ministries and doctrines.
Pay: $125 per published page
The mission of Touchstone “is to provide a place where Christians of various backgrounds can speak with one another on the basis of shared belief in the fundamental doctrines of the faith as revealed in Holy Scripture and summarized in the ancient creeds of the Church.” They expect articles to be between 1,500 and 5,000 words depending on what category an article falls into.
Pay: $450 per article
VISION is looking for articles tailored to people considering religious life or priesthood in a religious community. They expect articles to be between 1,000 and 1,500 words.
